Where Light Becomes Sacred Architecture
Founded in 1987 beneath the vaulted arches of a converted Lyon tannery, Lumière Atelier exists at the singular intersection of medieval craft and contemporary vision. Our atelier does not merely fabricate stained glass; it composes with light itself, transmuting raw silica and mineral pigments into architectural instruments of illumination.
Each commission begins as a dialogue between the architect's intent and the material's ancient memory. We work exclusively with hand-blown antique glass, Kiln-fired dichroic surfaces, and custom-parements ground from oxides we source from a single atelier in Murano. The result is glass that breathes differently at dawn than at dusk — living, breathing architecture that rewrites itself with the passage of the sun.
Our pieces reside in private chapels on Saint-Tropez, in the atrium of a museum in Doha, and in homes across three continents. Every pane carries the maker's hand. Every composition is singular. Nothing is repeated. Nothing is ordinary.
